Toshiko SAKAI's kimono pants
Toshiko Sakai is a wonderful woman always smiling, she makes people around her feel warm.
After graduating from high-school, she started to work in a department store in Gotemba, where she was making men's clothes. She has now retired, but she has not given up her old Mitsubishi sewing machine, which is over 50 years old. She now recycles discarded kimono by making pants from the beautiful fabrics that she has removed slowly and carefully as she prepares to give them a new life. We call these re-creations KIMONO-PANTS, they keep warm in winter and cool in summer, they are light to wear and comfortable.
Come try them!
